Well, about me, hmmm,
I am a Commercial Business Aviation, Home & Hotel Photographer with an eye for interior spaces and the products and people within them. Randy Smith Photo understands Business Aviation Magazine and Brand Hotel Photo Guideline Requirements.
Home for Randy Smith Photo is Sunny & Happy Southeast Florida ( not as happy during Hurricane season ). I was born on the wonderful quirky little island of Key West.
Several of my family generations
have called Key West or the Bahamas home, but, unfortunately, it's not an easy place to be a traveling Commercial Photographer. ( It is still my getaway every few months )
Now, my boat ( a trawler named Last Conch ) is home for me in beautiful West Palm Beach. She is docked at the marina that affords me the best view and still keeps me within a short
distance by car to several Airports for those out of town assignments.
I've been around in the photography business for quite awhile now, almost my whole life, in fact. Early on, I started a partnership in
a Marketing Design Group and Photography Studio, where I photographed everything from Corporate Aircraft, Luxury Homes & Hotel Interiors to Pratt Whitney; Motorola & Rubbermaid Products.
I was hired not because I only worked in one field, but, because of my understanding of working and shaping light.
My early education in Marketing taught me that images should motivate 'action' and the photos should look new, bright and happy, unless
some lower key drama was called for.
The skill sets, lighting, composition and shape relation placement, I certainly bring to the table on every assignment, small or large. I'd also like to think that bringing along a savviness for
Image Branding is equally important. Your potential customers should get the perception, at a glance, that your company is 'established' and will be around for a long time.
Consistant, clean, interesting and happy images certainly help.
When I'm not shooting my style of imagery, I love great healthy food, travel and meeting the interesting people that I'm lucky enough to work and play with along the way. Where ever I go, I collect the local history and stories, the
favorite foodie spots and anything nautical and cool that will say something to my boat or small studio.
So, drop me a line and let's go and create something!
And as I like to say, "when everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it."
